Radio New Zealand’s Todd Niall has investigated figures recently advanced by Simon Bridges and Nick Smith used to attack Auckland Council and has discovered that the figures are somewhat rubbery.
A significant milestone has been passed.
The site www.standfor.co.nz is supposed to get us all excited about the flag distraction. It’s not turning out the way the Nats intended.

There’s a major and rather obvious contributory factor to UK Labour’s failure in the UK general election that doesn’t seem to have drawn any comment. Until now…
The English Election campaign and the results felt like a rerun of the New Zealand 2014 election campaign. Slick Crosby Textor designed attacks on Labour’s stability and on the leader and an imbalance of resources contributed to the result in both cases. How does the left counter this?
The award winning documentary Hot Air, on the politics of climate change in New Zealand, by Alister Barry & Abi King-Jones, is now free to view on Youtube.

Well who among us hasn’t forgotten a massive illegal domestic spying programme?

Everything that has been presented to the public about our elected governments’ concern for the environment, particularly in regard to climate change, has been a charade for 25 years.

Like a punch drunk boxer, the pollsters didn’t see it coming. Three leaders could be writing their resignation letters over night. David Cameron is pinching himself at how easy it all turned out. And Scotland had another referendum.
Some brief thoughts on the UK Election and what can be learned.
Update: Ed Miliband resigns. Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage have also quit.

Before the turgid post-election hell that the British Establishment will undoubtably unleash…
Ed Miliband is dominating social media in the UK on the eve of the election. #milifandom is the meme of the day!
UPDATE: Exit Poll suggests Tory win, Lib Dem’s smashed. SNP dominate in Scotland, Greens may win 2 seats. UKIP stuffed, Farage to lose in his seat. Labour still a possibility to govern.
UPDATE 2: Rumours that both Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg will resign in the morning. George Galloway loses his seat, UKIP have flopped and it appears Nigel Farage will not be an MP. However, Tory win not yet confirmed.
The Auditor General found that no one in National Ltd™, the Māori Party, Te Puni Korkiri, or any other of its apologists can detail exactly what Whānau Ora is supposed to be doing, provide evidence of its outcomes, or explain why up to 33% of the money is being paid in “administration”. In other words, Whānau Ora is a shambles. And dodgy.
Despite being heavily advertised Paul Henry’s show’s viewer numbers are small while viewer numbers of Campbell Live have surged.
The UK votes tomorrow. A hung Parliament is predicted, and the UK enters uncharted warters, guided only by a cabinet manual. Will Cameron dig in at No. 10?

Our political system is awash with money. There is clearly an arms race going on where National is trying to spend everyone else into the ground. National includes significant funding from Auckland property developers and real estate agents, and probably explains their effective disinterest in fixing Auckland housing.
Someone is trying to fabricate the ‘truth’, but it isn’t Snowden and the people reporting him.

Two politicians with very similar names and practically identical, terrible excuses for their lies. But does it mean the honeymoon’s over for John Key?
